How often should I have my septic system pumped?

It is recommended to have your septic system pumped every 3-5 years. Depends on usage though and how old the system is and some should be pumped every year and some can go 10 years plus. Think of it as changing oil in a car. Many newer cars now have special oil or filters that can go 10,000 miles plus but many people still change the oil every 3-5000 miles.

What are the signs that my septic system needs to be serviced?

Signs that your septic system needs to be serviced include slow draining fixtures, sewage backups, and foul odors.

What is the difference in a county septic inspection vs septic pumping?

Our policy when we pump a septic system all accessible chambers are pumped and an inspection is done with the pumping. If we do just an inspection we do not show up with a pump truck, it is a service truck. Our inspections include finding levels of the septic tank sludge and giving a suggestion on pumping, cleaning the filter if the system has one in it, checking pump floats and pump area to make sure all is working properly and checking the drainage system with a visual inspection.
